mikeash.com: just this guy, you know?

Lots of castle pictures in this series; this is on the inside, near the current-day front.
This is a view of the inside of the castle. It's a big place, and a very nice place as well. There are museums and nice park areas.
This is a view of Caen from the castle. In the center is the Abbaye aux Hommes.
Another view of Caen from the castle, this time of the port area.
It's easier for me to post a picture than it is for me to take down the words.
Here again, easier to grab a photo. As it says, there is little or nothing left of the original construction of the castle, but it's still a neat place.
The castle walls, looking north along the western face.
Here is the present-day front entrace to the castle.
This is a statue on the castle grounds. There's no signage or anything with it, so I have no idea what it's called, or who made it, or anything, but I think it's nice to look at so I took a picture.
I know nothing about these cannon; like the statue, there aren't any signs or anything like that. They may be original, they may be replicas, they may be just there for looks, I have no idea.
This shot is from the top of the walls looking down. They're quite high.
More of the castle grounds.
Another view of Caen from the castle.
These are the same cannon as from the other picture.
More castle walls.
This is the former location of William the Conquerer's palace.
This is the description of the palace, which was once situated in the spot where the previous picture was taken.
"Here rests an unknown victim of the battle of Caen (some number, possibly 9?) June - 19 July Nineteen Forty Four"
This is tough to read, but it talks about the state of the castle when it was built, and afterwards.
